As our company continues to change and grow, we are seeking a qualified individual to contribute to our on-going success in the role of HRIS Specialist. The role will be stationed at our corporate office in Truro, NS.

About the Position:
The HRIS Specialist will have considerable knowledge of HR principles and practices in compliance, reporting, data management, time and attendance, payroll and Record keeping. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Ensure regulatory and legal compliance with all HR activities within assigned duties and responsibilities;
Maintains electronic employee records, ensures accuracy of data in compliance with all privacy regulations related to electronic record-keeping and personal data management;
Maintains and regularly audit internal controls for user access and data confidentiality;
Leads implementation of new electronic HR processes and programs;
Optimization of HRIS system(s) to meet workforce requirements, identifying and implementing automation for reduction of manual processes;
Initiates resolution to payroll/HRIS functionality issues with vendor and ensures timely and satisfactory resolution to concerns;
Ensures all stakeholders are supported in all areas requiring HRIS data and functionality and compliance with all legislation requirements;
Designs and develops ad-hoc reports to deliver ongoing reporting and analytics;
In collaboration with HR management team, development and implementation of HRIS to support electronic HR practices including, but not limited to, the electronic performance management system, sick-time accruals, vacation accruals and schedules, reporting of data, managing HRIS Employee Self-Service Portal content and functionality;
Development and implementation of HRIS programs to assist in streamlining data accuracy and availability for metrics reporting;
Provides support for use of ADP, E-Verify and other HR data management systems to local and remote users and practitioners;
In collaboration with HR Coordinator, develops, distributes, and conducts training for new electronic HR processes;
Keeps abreast of current and emerging trends and technologies while exploring ways to leverage technology and data to improve results;
Assists in development and implementation of “paperless” HR business processes;
Assists the HR management team with special projects, communications, and other administrative support tasks as required;
Supports Shared Services team members when necessary due to priorities to ensure overall HR objectives are achieved;
Assist on projects within the HR team and make recommendations for improvement and changes to maintain the highest levels of employee satisfaction;
To accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management.

Qualifications:
3-5 years of HRIS data management specialist experience, ADP Workforce Now is a definite asset;
Associates or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Strong customer service orientation to include increasing manager and employee satisfaction, meeting expectations, solving problems and responding effectively;
Strong analytical ability and highly detail oriented;
Excellent project management, planning, time-management, collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, presentation and negotiation skills;
Advanced computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
Excellent communicator, using both verbal and written communication skills with ability to listen to others and value opinions, interpret information, promote and execute ideas;
Ability to demonstrate a customer-service oriented approach to problem-solving while gathering feedback to achieve continuous improvement;
Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment;
Positive and proactive contributor who is capable of interacting with varying personalities and all levels of internal and external stakeholders;
Ability to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines and must be detail-oriented and organized with the ability to prioritize; and attend/participate in meetings presenting a team player approach;
Highly motivated, self-starter, with the ability to manage several competing tasks and demands simultaneously;
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism, respect, discretion, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions.
