About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Coordinator to join our team on a large-scale industrial construction project in Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major project while working in a remote camp environment alongside a highly skilled project team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction quality standards are achieved and maintained throughout all phases of project execution. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, consultants, and subcontractors, the QA/QC Coordinator will support quality planning, inspections, documentation, testing, and project turnover activities.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Inspections
- Review project drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and related documentation to ensure constructability and compliance.
- Conduct field inspections to verify work conforms to approved drawings, specifications, project details, and quality requirements.
- Schedule, coordinate, and perform quality control inspections, including:
- Concrete pre-pour inspections
- Rebar inspections
- Civil and structural inspections
- Mechanical quality inspections, as required
- Monitor construction activities to ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are implemented and followed throughout project execution.
- Assist the Superintendent in maintaining and improving overall project quality standards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Create, maintain, and organize QA/QC documentation, records, reports, and quality tracking systems.
- Prepare and maintain project quality reports, including:
- Concrete break test results
- Compaction test results
- Inspection reports
- Deficiency tracking logs
- Operations and Maintenance Manuals
- Assist with daily reporting requirements and project quality updates.
- Prepare and submit project turnover and closeout documentation.
Project Support
- Assist with quantity take-offs and material procurement activities.
- Verify shipped versus received materials and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Support the preparation and tracking of Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Maintain and update project records, including RFIs, Site Instructions (SIs), inspections, and as-built documentation.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Superintendents, field staff, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Minimum 4 years of QA/QC experience within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience with civil, structural, and/or mechanical construction quality control processes.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience managing QA/QC documentation, inspection records, reporting systems, and turnover packages.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred
- Previous experience working on remote, camp-based, industrial, mining, energy, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, inspection protocols, and testing procedures within large-scale construction environments.
- Experience using QA/QC software platforms and digital document management systems.
