About The Role
Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, the Senior HSE Coordinator is responsible for leadership on the project site and is the go-to safety expert on site. The successful candidate is also responsible for client management, direct interaction with the client, providing safety status updates and statistical data, site reports for Graham and the client. This will be supporting future ICI Projects in the Edmonton area.
As a Senior HSE Coordinator at Graham, you will:

Take responsibility for own health, safety, and environmental protection, as well the general public, and visitors to the site(s)

Conduct project-specific safety orientations with all workers and visitors new to the worksite prior to commencement of work on the project

Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors

Assist in equipment inspections and preparation of reports, and follow-up on all noted deficiencies

Assist project Supervisor in the implementation and communication of the Project Specific Safety Plan

Accompany local government HSE inspectors and project Superintendent for inspections and ensure corrections to compliance with legislation are taken

Ensure all controlled products supplied to projects are accompanied by a corresponding current safety data sheet (SDS / MSDS), and other documentation as required by local government regulations

Ensure all required HSE reports, and meeting minutes are filed, with copies sent to the appropriate personnel for review and corrective action

Assist with conducting incident investigations, analysis, and completion of incident reports and summaries

Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify undesirable trends

Conduct formal (documented) project inspections with the project Superintendent and a worker to ensure hazards are identified and a corrective action plan is developed and implemented

Support project Supervision with claims management and return to work processes

Meet with project staff to discuss training needs

Build and maintain effective working relationships

Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviours that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Plan, Do, Check, Act

Demonstrate visible and professional HSE leadership at all times, including mentoring and coaching direct reports

Assist, conduct, and coach workers with pre-task planning, as required
Qualifications/ Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or infrastructure construction safety or a related field

Certification in Occupational Health and Safety
-
NCSO designation
-
CRSP or CHSC certification is an asset

Understanding of Prime Contractor responsibilities

Ability to lead others
-
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Excel, and powerpoint

This role is field-based; local travel to project sites is required

The role has the potential for work outside of normal hours
