Mechanical Supervisor (Water/Wastewater)

THE OPPORTUNITY:
An established and growing Canadian infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee self-performed mechanical construction on large-scale industrial and municipal projects. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
As the Mechanical Supervisor, you'll be responsible for leading daily field operations and ensuring mechanical work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading mechanical crews and coordinating subcontractors to meet project milestones.

Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all health and safety legislation, company policies, and safe work practices.

Planning manpower, equipment, and material requirements to maximize productivity.

Coordinating closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, consultants, suppliers, and clients.

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and mechanical designs to identify conflicts and resolve issues before they impact construction.

Managing installation of mechanical piping systems and equipment in accordance with project requirements.

Monitoring project schedules and developing short-term work plans to keep construction activities on track.

Tracking labour productivity, quantities installed, and project costs while assisting with forecasting and progress reporting.

Reviewing fabrication drawings, spool drawings, and installation details for accuracy.

Supporting project billing, cost control, and estimating activities.

Ensuring accurate as-built documentation throughout construction.

Helping develop site logistics and coordinating mechanical activities with other trades.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

10+ years of mechanical construction experience, including at least 5 years leading field crews.

Red Seal Trade Certification, Mechanical Trade qualification, or relevant technical education.

Experience on industrial, water/wastewater, energy, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems, equipment installation, and construction sequencing.

Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

Working knowledge of mechanical codes, quality standards, and industry best practices.

Experience with scheduling, labour planning, cost tracking, and production reporting.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software such as Bluebeam or scheduling platforms.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
