Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Person to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing parts inventory, processing orders, and ensuring the seamless flow of parts within our operations. Duties
- Manage and maintain parts inventory using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to ensure accurate stock levels and timely replenishment
- Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate procurement activities to meet production schedules and customer demands
- Source parts from suppliers through effective negotiation, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationship management
- Assist customers by providing product information, technical support, and resolving inquiries with a focus on outstanding customer service
- Conduct data entry for inventory records, order processing, and supply chain documentation with precision and attention to detail
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to handle parts movement and storage
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Parts Person in a dealership or manufacturing environment is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge across machinery, overhead doors, or automotive parts is advantageous
- Proficiency in data entry, inventory management software, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Knowledge of supply chain processes including sourcing, procurement, demand planning, and negotiation strategies
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments or industrial settings enhances your fit for this role
Qualifications
- Valid driver's licence and a good driving record
- Comfortable driving a truck and trailer
- Able to safely lift and handle 50+ lbs
- Must be comfortable using a computer and entering data accurately
- Ability to prepare and provide bi-weekly inventory reports
- Organized and able to keep accurate records
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Able to work well with others
- Self-motivated and willing to pitch in wherever needed
- Previous experience with parts, inventory, warehousing, construction, overhead doors, or a similar field is an asset
