We are seeking a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our team. This role plays a critical part in fostering a strong safety culture across our construction sites by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
Role Description
Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, the Construction Safety Officer (CSO) will be responsible for monitoring safety performances, completing daily site inspections and ensuring the project is properly implementing Townline’s Health and Safety Standards.
The Duties of the Construction Safety Officer may include but are not limited to:

Provide first aid treatment within scope of training;

Maintain first aid facilities and equipment;

Implement and monitor Townline’s safety program and related policies;

Monitor the safety performance of all on-site workers;

Hold weekly safety meetings with Townline employees;

Complete daily site inspections;

Ensure safety reports, orientations, meeting minutes and data are collected and submitted to the Superintendent and Construction Manager as required; and

Able to physically work on site to maintain site housekeeping, repair guardrails, and perform general labour duties, etc. as required;

Skills and Requirements:

Occupational First Aid Level 2 required;

Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification preferred;

1-9 years of experience working in Construction - Concrete high rise or wood frame.

Strong working knowledge of local residential/commercial construction practices;

Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills;

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines;

Comfortable working with and/or learning new software programs (i.e. Procore; SiteMax);

Proficient using MS Word, Excel and Outlook;

Effective communication skills;

Ability to work in a team environment;

Good problem-solving skills.
