The opportunity

Our Central Region Pipeline team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Ile des Chenes, Manitoba to support the Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines business, spanning more than 14,000 km from Northwestern Alberta to Northwestern Ontario.

You’ll apply your mechanical and technical skills to keep our natural gas compressor stations, measurement stations, and pipeline sites running smoothly. Reporting to the Central Region Pipeline Manager, you will be a member of a dynamic, multi-skilled team that takes pride in successfully achieving safe and reliable performance of this area’s equipment.

What you’ll do

Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TransCanada's safety, health, environment and risk standards
Perform inspections related to valve servicing, troubleshooting and repair
Assist with all aspects of pipeline isolation and gas handling
Support various tasks associated with inline inspection
Perform basic One Call line locates
Assist with all types of Line Crossings (foreign or seismic) of TransCanada Pipe Assets
Identify encroachment issues
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Excellent work safety record and a safe work attitude
High school diploma (or equivalency) is required, completion of a diploma from a college or technical school is an asset
Valid driver's license
Planning and organization skills with the tenacity to see tasks to complete implementation
Highly motivated and energetic with strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative in a team environment that includes shared responsibilities and independent execution of specific tasks
Preferred Qualifications

Working towards a Technologist Diploma or Mechanical related Trade Certificate
Proven mechanical aptitude
Aptitude and desire for learning new software and computer systems
Work Schedule

You may be required to travel to other locations for temporary work assignments, meetings, and training involving some overnight stays away from home. These roles are overtime eligible and will be part of an on-call rotating schedule, and is subject to call-out for emergency response. The regular work schedule will be:

Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is an 8 hour day
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is a Regular Day Off (RDO)
