Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Process Planner to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing assembly processes to ensure efficient production workflows. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, industrial equipment, and manufacturing principles, with a focus on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies. The Assembly Process Planner will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity and product quality.
Duties
- Develop and document detailed assembly process plans utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo.
- Create and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and CAD models to support manufacturing operations.
- Design and optimize assembly procedures incorporating robotics, CNC programming, welding, and other industrial equipment.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and automation solutions to improve assembly efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and streamline processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robotics into assembly lines.
- Conduct time studies and process analyses to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support troubleshooting of manufacturing issues related to assembly processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during process development.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics for designing assembly layouts.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in mechanical engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with industrial equipment including robotics, CNC machines, PLCs, and welding techniques.
- Expertise in CNC programming and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement strategies.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and CAD models accurately.
- Familiarity with automation integration involving robotics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization and efficiency enhancement.
