Western Tractor Company Inc., a 4-store John Deere dealer located in Southern Alberta, is searching for full time Service Advisor to join our growing John Deere agricultural equipment group at our Lethbridge location. Western Tractor is located at the center of an irrigated agricultural area that is known for the variety of specialty crops that it produces. John Deere is the number one brand of Agricultural, Turf and Compact Construction Equipment in the area and has been represented by Western Tractor in Southern Alberta since the 1930's. Responsibilities and Duties

The primary role of the Service Advisor will be to manage the flow of grounds care service work and assist the Service Departments overall operation to more efficiently serve our customers.

  • Proactively sells the aftermarket business ensuring the pipeline of work remains full
  • Has a retail selling emphasis on lawn and garden and hand held products
  • Answers and directs in-coming phone calls to the service department
  • Handles walk in traffic and directs to appropriate person if it cannot be handled
  • Provides technical support for customers about lawn and garden equipment
  • Determines whether customer issues can be resolved over the phone or coordinate with the Service Coordinator to create work orders and set up service calls
  • Manages the grounds care work order process
  • Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
  • Schedules and assigns grounds care jobs to the technicians according to their skills
  • Supports the Service Coordinator in the quoting process
  • Actively coaches, develops and assists employees to grow their capabilities
  • Works with Service Manager to identify and execute continuous process improvements
  • Communicates, enforces and monitors effective service department processes to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with supervisors and technicians (verbal, text, email, etc) to meet their needs
  • Require advanced computer skills
  • Expected to use computer programs to read manuals for diagnostics and repairs
  • Attend product training as required to improve skill level to meet customer's needs
  • Perform various outbound aftermarket calling campaigns
  • Communicate with customers and co-workers professionally and courteously
  • Work additional hours during seasonally busy times, some weekend shifts are required
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with gas engines is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to provide above average customer service on the phone and in person
  • Well-developed ability to shift priorities and tasks
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Organized, detail oriented and great follow up skills
  • Typing 30 wpm+
  • Familiar with computerized operations, Microsoft Office programs, able to learn new systems
  • Adaptable - demonstrated ability to continuously learn new things and apply new information

Required Experience

  • 2+ years experience in a busy Service Centre or Repair Shop
  • Post secondary training would be an asset
  • Technical/mechanical qualifications would be an asset
  • Advanced customer management and/or sales training would be an asset
  • Supervisotry experience is an asset
