This is a permanent, full-time position with the Community Services Department.
Reporting to the Recreation Programs and Services Manager, this position is responsible for:
- Daily operations of the Wellness Centre, Climbing Wall and Fitness Centre including scheduling, orientation, fitness assessments and programming, opening and closing procedures, and product ordering.
- Providing strong customer service for the City of Cold Lake recreation customers by creating a positive and energetic atmosphere and acting as a point of contact for contractors.
- Ensuring cleanliness, working order and efficiency of fitness equipment by completing scheduled cleaning and inspections.
- Implementing and delivering fitness classes and climbing wall programming.
- Maintenance and upkeep of wellness system and financial software to meet administrative requirements.
- Providing support to the Wellness Centre and Climbing Wall staff.
- Two year course in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related discipline.
- Two years of experience in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field is preferred.
- Fitness certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of fitness and climbing wall programming and equipment is required.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Strong computer skillset.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Driver's Abstract.
This position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some evening and weekend shifts. The wage for this position is $33.69 per hour.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
