Forest Hill Farmhouse, founded in 2022 by Blair Bitove, is a chic salad restaurant located at 2 Lola Rd. in Toronto's Midtown area. The restaurant has expanded rapidly across the city, offering a unique dining experience to its customers.
Position Summary:
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for identifying and executing growth opportunities in retail and improving operational efficiency across our current restaurant locations. This position combines strategic planning, market analysis, and operational oversight to ensure the successful implementation of business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape for retail expansion.
- Assess customer preferences and feedback to inform product development and positioning in the retail sector.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for entering the retail market, including product selection, pricing strategies, and distribution channels.
- Collaborate with senior management to align retail initiatives with overall business objectives.
Operational Support:
- Analyze current restaurant operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
- Implement best practices and operational enhancements across existing locations to drive performance.
Partnership Development:
- Identify and establish relationships with potential retail partners, distributors, and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, culinary, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of retail offerings with brand identity and operational capabilities.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Performance Metrics & Reporting:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of retail initiatives and operational improvements.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Training & Development:
- Identify training needs for restaurant staff to support new retail initiatives and operational improvements.
- Assist in the development of training materials and programs to enhance team performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic planning, or operations within the restaurant or retail industry.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of identifying growth opportunities and implementing successful strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in project management and a results-driven approach to achieving goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analysis tools.
