Description: A challenging position in the Clinical Counselling program in Maple Ridge. Duties include provision of individual and family therapy for children, youth and adults who have mental health issues and who may have experienced sexual abuse and other forms of trauma.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Clinical Team Leader, the Lead Child and Family Therapist will be responsible for the provision of therapeutic service to individual and family clients, case management and appropriate documentation and record keeping. Duties will include shared responsibility with the Clinical Team Leader (located in the Coquitlam office) to provide support for Maple Ridge Team, and to provide supervision of post-graduate practicum counselling student placements. Group work, education events, and representing the agency at public events may also be required.
Qualifications: Graduate degree in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Social Work, registration with an appropriate professional regulatory authority such as BCACC and, a minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience are required. Experience with family systems, child therapies, child sexual abuse and trauma recovery are required.
