PRIMED is seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Device Product Manager to join our Product Marketing team in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key product categories, driving market share growth, profitability, and sustainability. You will also be responsible for product marketing, support development of net new products, transformational changes to existing products, and integration of significant manufacturing improvements. You will work closely with the Associate Product Manager, Sales teams, Product Development, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, and other departments to ensure our products meet customer needs and market demands. Your day to day:
As the Product Manager, you will collaborate with the Associate Product Manager and cross-functional teams to lead and contribute to the product lifecycle. Your core responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive product strategies, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans, including pricing, positioning, and promotional activities.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct competitive market intelligence and benchmarking to inform product development and strategic decisions.
- Product Development Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from concept through market introduction, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and external partners to create robust business cases, optimize product offerings, and drive successful product launches.
- Customer & Market Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product enhancements and identify new opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Team & Training Leadership: Mentor junior team members and develop comprehensive training programs for internal stakeholders and end-users to ensure proper product usage and market success.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare regular reports for senior management on product performance, market trends, and regulatory compliance, ensuring all products meet necessary standards.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation by identifying new product opportunities, conducting financial analysis, and implementing improvements to maintain market leadership.
Who You Are:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, sciences, engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced degree (MBA or similar) is preferred.
- Experience: 4-6 years of successful product management experience, with a proven track record of leading product development projects and delivering measurable business results in the medical device or healthcare sector.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage senior stakeholders, and work seamlessly across departments to drive results.
- Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive strategic decisions in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple high-impact projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Communication & Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior.
- Innovation & Continuous Learning: Commitment to driving product innovation, staying updated on industry trends, and contributing to the company’s market leadership.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including to Asia and the United States, as required.
Work Environment:
Based in the Edmonton office with occasional remote work flexibility. Standard office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional extended hours.
