Century Downs Racetrack and Casino is looking for a Dishwasher to join our kitchen team.
As a Dishwasher, you will:
Provide day-to-day kitchen operations: Clean and wash dishes, cooking utensils and ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen areas.
Be a safety champion: Perform duties in compliance with safety procedures, including the use of safety equipment. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe practices or conditions.
Contribute to authentic team connections. Develop, maintain and enhance positive relations with all customers and team members.
Ready to perform side duties: Clean trays, restock shelves, clean and break down boxes in the service area. Perform walk-in cooler checks, clean cooler floors, take out trash bags and handle cleaning compounds and chemicals. Assist food prep when needed, make coffee and train other dishwashers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What we need from you:
- Demonstrated experience washing dishes and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment.
- Graduate from High School, or the equivalent in education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to carry out responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
- WHMIS, Food Safe certificate or equivalent, when required.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to commute with reliable transportation to our property.
