Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Quarry Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy machinery, particularly front-end loaders, in a quarry or similar environment. This role involves the efficient loading and transportation of materials such as rock, sand, and gravel, as well as routine equipment maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment to load materials onto trucks, stockpiles, or hoppers.
- Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery, including checking fluid levels, greasing, and cleaning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including stockpiles and roadways.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and material handling.
- Keep accurate records of materials moved and hours worked.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned, such as operating additional equipment or participating in safety meetings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a quarry or mining environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines and operational manuals.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAT 980 loaders or similar equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Familiarity with quarry operations and material specifications.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Operation of heavy machinery in a dusty and noisy environment.
