This role will be measured against specific targets as noted in the departmental business plan.
SUMMARY
Responsible for industrial maintenance of facility and factory automation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership of Preventative Maintenance assignments, follow Preventive Maintenance Work Order Responsibilities and Escalation Plan SOP-TE-107
- Review PM’s for correct equipment and tasks pass forward any findings
- Completion of assigned Demand Maintenance activity in plant that may include modifying processes, custom fabrications, testing and evaluating current and new processes for improvements, PLC programming, Robot programming, HMI programming
- Train associates on basic maintenance skills and tools, OPM activities and equipment operation
- Provide training for Production Team Leaders on any improvements that are made to the process so that they can train Production Associates on all changes
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, fans, conveyors, and robots according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Complete communication documentation as well as updating any documentation that needs to be changed due to an improvement or change in process; This includes CAD drawings, line
layouts, and SOP’s
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and hoists to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, drills, and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, transformers, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
- Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Post secondary education in Engineering or Engineering Technology desired as well as two or more years experience in PLC programming, instrumentation and controls is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
