Realstar is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Maintenance Technician to join the team at one of our premier luxury residential buildings in Midtown Toronto. About the Role
As Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping our luxury property running smoothly and looking its best. You'll respond promptly to resident requests, help coordinate suite inspections and repairs, and support the building's life safety systems — all while helping create the polished, welcoming environment our residents expect.
What You'll Do
Resident Service
- Address resident service requests and minor repairs within 24 hours
- Build a neighbourly, welcoming atmosphere for residents, prospects, contractors, and service providers
- Look for opportunities to exceed resident expectations at every turn
Property Maintenance
- Maintain working knowledge of building systems including pumps, emergency generators, HVAC, boilers, chillers, swimming pool, and sprinklers
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of floors, stairwells, and common areas, fixing minor deficiencies as you go
- Support the Manager by coordinating and supervising contractor repairs, ensuring work meets Realstar's standards
- Guide residents on submitting maintenance requests through the online portal
- Assist with capital expenditure planning and invoice review
Fire & Life Safety
- Maintain working knowledge of fire alarm and detection systems
- Help ensure compliance with local fire and life safety regulations, including bi-annual fire drills
Building Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of all common areas — foyers, amenity rooms, underground parking, locker rooms, patios, and rooftops
- Prepare vacant units for move-in, including appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchens, washrooms, and balconies
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in line with WHMIS standards
- Manage garbage chutes, waste and recycling rooms, and coordinate collection with the city schedule
- Perform seasonal grounds work, including snow and ice removal and salting of entrances, walkways, and rooftop areas
What You Bring
- Previous experience in multi-residential property maintenance or a related trade is an asset
- Working knowledge of emergency procedures (fire, flood, mould protocols)
- Ability to identify equipment malfunctions, such as HVAC or boiler issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a genuine willingness to help residents troubleshoot minor issues
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/move objects exceeding 50 lbs. (e.g., garbage bins, appliances)
- A professional, service-first attitude and pride in maintaining a luxury property
Compensation, Benefits & Perks
