The Office of the Vice-Principal, Research is responsible for enhancing the overall research profile of UTSC locally, nationally and internationally.

Your opportunity:
Working under the direction of the Manager, Research Services and Partnerships, the incumbent will provide effective and efficient service and support for research administration, external research funding related activity, research communications and other initiatives established by the Vice-Principal, Research and the Director, Office of the Vice-Principal, Research.

Your responsibilities will include:
Applying and interpreting policies and procedures in decision-making independently
Fostering and maintaining relationships with existing and potential sponsors
Conducting detailed analysis of grant application policy to maximize research funding
Providing detailed information to faculty and administrative staff on completing and submitting research applications
Leading seminars and/or workshops
Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders

Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Minimum five years related experience in an academic divisional research administration environment.
Demonstrated experience in the area of supporting development of applications for research funding and identification and communication of funding opportunities
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent writing skills are necessary
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
Experience maintaining websites and using social media
Strong demonstrated presentation skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Assets (Nonessential):
Familiarity with UTSC environment and processes an asset
Knowledge of the University’s Research Information System (RIS) and proficiency in RefWorks and/or EndNotes is preferred

Appointment Type: Budget - Term

Schedule: Full-time

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 13 - $74,041 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $94,687. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
