Job Summary
We are seeking an Owner-Operator for container work to join our team. This role involves operating commercial trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of freight handling, vehicle maintenance, and safety regulations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent service. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair are highly valued to support the diverse needs of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight over designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to minimize downtime
- Coordinate with dispatchers and clients to confirm delivery schedules and address any issues promptly
- Adhere to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies during operations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably as an owner operator
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment safely (certification preferred)
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance
- Ability to operate heavy equipment when required and handle physically demanding tasks
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as part of the onboarding process
