Job Summary

Teachers are responsible for instructing students in specific subjects within English and English related streams . (Include onsite course and online course)

Primary responsibilities

  • Instruct students on various topics in English and English related courses.
  • Through out the courses, the teacher is to follow the Ontario curriculum
  • Help students understand the basic foundations and further their knowledge of English
  • Create instructional resources for use in the classroom/online course.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals. Participate in ongoing training sessions.
  • Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
  • Maintain grade books and classroom. Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
  • Create projects designed to enhance lectures. Create course outline and unit plan.
  • Utilize various curriculum resources. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
  • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
  • Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
  • Tutor students on an individual basis (extra pay).
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare and distribute required reports. Observe and evaluate student's performance.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
  • Keep records of assessment of, as and for learning.

Minimal qualifications:

  • B.A or B.Sc in Education
  • OCT certificate

Work conditions

Working hours:

  • 9:40am to 4:40pm,
  • From Sept. 2019 to June 2020
