Job Summary
The Soldering Technician will be responsible for soldering, assembling, inspecting, and repairing components used in steel manufacturing operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, steady hand skills, the ability to read work instructions or drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform soldering, brazing, and related assembly work on metal components and parts
- Prepare surfaces, components, and materials for soldering
- Read and follow blueprints, work orders, diagrams, and production instructions
- Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and proper bonding
- Use hand tools, soldering irons, torches, measuring tools, and other shop equipment
- Identify defects, rework parts when needed, and report quality concerns
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
- Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of PPE
- Assist with general production, fabrication, or assembly duties as needed
- Work closely with supervisors, welders, fabricators, and quality control staff
Qualifications
- Previous soldering, brazing, welding, fabrication, or metalworking experience required
- Experience in a manufacturing, steel, metal fabrication, or industrial environment is a plus
- Ability to read basic blueprints, diagrams, or work instructions
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices safely and accurately
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to [weight] lbs as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with steel or metal components
- Knowledge of quality inspection procedures
- Familiarity with shop safety standards
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair soldered joints or assemblies
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
