Schedule: 7 on / 7 off - rotating schedule

Role Summary:
The Utility Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Utility Heavy Equipment Operators may be asked to operate equipment such as loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, skid steers, rock trucks, and packers. The operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, as well as company policies and procedures. As an operator with Bouchier the bulk of your work will involve road maintenance activities.
Primary Responsibilities:

Operate all assigned equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Ability to get signed off on loader with bucket, forks, grapple and sweeper as well as load trucks and unload material, tram material, do minor ground repair, and sweep parking lots
- Ability to get signed off on rock trucks, haul gravel for road repair, haul bitumen to the dump and haul snow
- Ability to get signed off on packer, pack gravel on roads, pads, and do ground repair
- Read, countersign, and enter comments into daily operator logbook
- Complete and document a pre-operational check on assigned equipment
- Grease equipment as necessary
- Ensure all equipment has proper safety equipment in place
- Keep interior clean
- Any required repairs to assigned equipment are communicated to maintenance personnel
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers and other employees
- Participate in Job Hazard Assessments, Feld Level Risk Assessments, and line-up meetings
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervision and Site Manager

Job requirements are listed below:
- 2-5 years of equipment experience on loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, skid steers, rock trucks, and packers.
- Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License is required
- Clean 5-year Driver's Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required
- One of the following basic Safety Orientations are required:
- CSTS09 or...
- OSSA Regional Orientation or...
- OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or...
- CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019)

- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Safety conscious attitude
- Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
- Must be comfortable working in close proximity to water
- Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test

- All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
- All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
