Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and capable mid-level Electrical Engineer (minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience) to join our Technical Services team. Reporting to the Electrical Team Lead, this role focuses on supporting the department in the preparation of electrical and control drawings, project coordination, and quoting for industrial refrigeration and related systems. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality deliverables while helping ensure projects progress smoothly from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and revise electrical and control drawings, schematics, and related documentation in support of refrigeration and mechanical projects.
- Assist the Electrical Team Lead with project coordination, including tracking progress, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and helping maintain schedules.
- Support the development of accurate project quotes and estimates, gathering technical inputs and coordinating with other disciplines as required.
- Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and other engineering team members to ensure electrical designs integrate effectively with overall system requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews and provide input on constructability, code compliance, and practical implementation of electrical and control systems.
- Conduct or support site visits and inspections as needed to verify installation quality and adherence to design intent.
- Maintain organized project documentation and contribute to clear communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify potential issues or risks related to electrical/control scope and escalate or help resolve them in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical design, controls, or industrial/project engineering (experience with refrigeration, HVAC, or industrial systems is an asset).
- Proficiency with CAD software for the production of electrical and control drawings (AutoCAD or similar required; experience with related tools is beneficial).
- Solid understanding of electrical design principles, control systems, and applicable codes/standards.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and support quoting and project workflows.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
