Dr Aminu Bello is an Associate Professor/Nephrologist, Division of Nephrology & Immunology, Faculty of

Medicine & Dentistry. He is seeking for a highly-motivated and capable postdoctoral fellow with an interest in any

of the following areas of clinical research- health outcomes, health systems or policy, epidemiology or public

health. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Bello on several projects on improving outcomes of patients

with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

The successful applicant will have relevant skills and expertise in clinical or population health research.

Experience in mixed methods research is an asset. The candidate should possess good knowledge or experience

of working within the healthcare systems. Experience in community-based participatory research and

engagement and/or interest in implementation science is preferred. In particular, experience in working with

Indigenous communities and/or Indigenous health research is a strong asset.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop and extend skills in critical appraisal, drafting of

grant proposals, creating analytical frameworks, and preparing manuscripts for publication.

Applicants should have a PhD/doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, health outcomes, health systems,

health policy or related fields. Candidates should also have the following:

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and writing skills
  • Research experience and/or publication record in the related fields
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
This is a full-time position, contingent on satisfactory performance, is available for a period of 2 years, with

possibility of renewal for a 3rd year. Applicants will be expected to apply for external fellowships (e.g. CIHR). The

salary range is $50,000 - $55,000 CDN per annum (including benefits), and the successful candidate will receive

university office space, use of appropriate computational services and full access to university libraries.
