Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Interlocking and Landscaping Specialist to join our construction and landscaping team. This role involves designing, installing, and maintaining interlocking pavers, pathways, patios, and various landscaping features. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction practices, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience in masonry and landscape installation. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance outdoor spaces with precision and craftsmanship.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate project execution
- Prepare sites by grading, excavating, and setting foundations for interlocking pavers and landscaping features
- Install interlocking pavers, bricks, stones, and concrete elements according to specifications
- Operate heavy equipment safely for site preparation and material handling
- Use hand tools such as trowels, levels, chisels, and caulking guns to achieve precise finishes
- Utilize power tools including saws, drills, and compactors for efficient installation
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and sealing for pathways or decorative elements
- Apply construction estimating skills to assist in project planning and material procurement
- Conduct masonry work including bricklaying, tile laying, and concrete work as needed
- Perform landscaping tasks such as planting, soil preparation, mulching, and restoration of outdoor areas
- Maintain safety standards on-site by adhering to OSHA guidelines and company policies
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or landscaping projects with a focus on interlocking paving or masonry work
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating principles
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and concrete finishing techniques
- Familiarity with carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, cabinetry installation, or restoration is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics related to electrical or plumbing systems within landscape projects
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction site hazards
