Summary:
The HAZMAT Team Leader will lead a team of highly trained individuals who handle the company’s most dynamic projects and emergency responses. The leader will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing major projects/responses, training technicians, and fostering professional business relationships while consistently looking for ways to expand services provided. This individual will be highly motivated, coachable and willing to obtain further training while always displaying a positive attitude.
Perform chemical transloading from one means of containment to another. This may include tank cars, tank trucks, fixed facility tanks, or other small means of containment.
Assist with organizing all resources required in both a response situation and in preparation for a potential response situation, including personnel, equipment, and documentation.
Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following GFL procedures, completing safety documentation, and upholding GFL’s high level of safety.
Track daily project hours, consumables, waste disposal volumes, etc. and report accurately to Emergency Response Manager
Able to work long hours
Mandatory travel across the regional area, including overnight stays. Travel frequency depends on emergency response and specialized project demands
Any prior training or experience relating to the following would be an asset: HAZMAT Technician, Tank car Specialist, Tank truck Specialist, ICS, Confined Space Entry, etc.
Please note extensive training will be provided by GFL to the successful candidate including commodity specific training, advanced air monitoring, and more.
