Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Reinforcing Ironworker/Rebar professional to join our dynamic construction team. We are hiring for work in Kamloops BC and surrounding area. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, reinforcing, and securing rebar and steel mesh in concrete structures to ensure the integrity and safety of our building projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of commercial, residential, and infrastructure developments. Duties
- Arrive on-site independently and in a timely manner, with tools and PPE necessary for the job.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine rebar placement and specifications.
- Cut, bend, and shape rebar using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment to meet project requirements.
- Install rebar cages and reinforcement within concrete forms with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure proper placement of rebar for concrete finishing
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, inspecting materials for quality, and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction with a focus on rebar installation or reinforcing ironwork.
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with hand tools, power tools.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Knowledge of schematics related to reinforcing steel layouts is preferred.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward safety compliance and quality workmanship.
Our work is mainly in the Kamloops area and we are looking for local rebar installers for a new and exciting project, with steady work starting late Autumn and running for the next year. We have other projects spanning throughout the Shuswap and Okanagan as well, and we are looking for dedicated and hardworking local employees. Experience is preferred, but training is available.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
