Production Technician – Burnaby, BC

LIVANOVA is a global medical device company and a leader in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. LIVANOVA operates as two business franchises: Cardiac Surgery and Neuromodulation. Our Burnaby Plant focuses on one main therapeutic area and that is the production of bioprosthetic heart valves for heart valve replacement surgery.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our dynamic team in an organization of innovation, growth and change. This position requires a dedicated team player, responsible for providing support for the valve manufacturing processes in accordance with prescribed procedures.

Essential Functions
Perceval Stent and Tag Cleaning/Solo Smart Holder Cleaning
Tissue Strip Batching – Launch shop orders based on the production plan
LF Machine Operation and Cleaning/ Bioburden Reduction process
Support the secondary operation processes
Prepare solutions and operate the Branson cleaning machine
Operate the laser to etch stents and serial tags, maintaining quality and traceability of product.
Assists with final packaging of valves and accessories
Perform data collection and document work accurately
Maintain traceability and proper documentation on all materials and components process through the area
Transfer miscellaneous supplies in and out of the designated work areas as required, organizes storage of components and supplies
Perform daily monitoring of the equipment and the environment as required
Ensure equipment has been calibrated prior to use and properly secured upon completion
Handle chemicals according to the safety procedures. Be able to lift and transfer 8 to 10 L solution carboy/s to the working station.
Maintains inventory of materials in their respective areas
Performs cleaning of critical controlled areas, gowning rooms and uncontrolled areas in accordance with the established procedures
Perform other duties as required

Further requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous manufacturing or production work experience, experience on machine operation, some data entry or record keeping experience
Able to do repetitive detailed work within guidelines and maintaining precise records.
Good time-management skills, and ability to multi-task.
Has a basic mechanical ability, or interest in learning production machine operations.
Demonstrates the ability to perform tasks with extreme detail, accuracy and speed.
Must be capable of reading and understanding procedures written in English.
Must be capable of understanding and following verbal instructions given in English.
Uses English as the spoken language in the working environment.
Is open-minded and accepts constructive criticism and feedback.
Able to work well with co-workers in a team environment.

Working Conditions:
Work in a controlled environment requiring special garments, gloves, masks etc
Frequent walking and standing
