Reporting to the Manager, Purchasing & Risk Management, this role is responsible for overseeing public procurements from beginning to end and supporting current procurement activities/contracts in a timely manner using the highest standard of business ethics and professionalism.
As a Buyer, you will administer the bidding process from inception to completion, work closely with internal clients and external vendors to ensure compliance with purchasing procedures, and develop quotes, tenders, proposals, contracts, and other procurement documents. You will provide strategic planning and consultation services to client departments by analyzing market trends and conditions, preparing total cost analysis and awarding recommendations, and providing incidental guidance on purchasing best practices.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Purchasing, Contract Law or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years related experience in procurement, preferably in a government setting and completion of/working towards procurement designation (e.g. SCMP or CPPB). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to administer the bidding process from inception to completion ensuring integrity, fairness, equality, and transparency of the process. We are seeking an individual with superior written and verbal communication skills, ability to work closely with internal clients, and external vendors to ensure compliance with the purchasing, and excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
This position offers a salary range of $70,322.24 - $83,161.64.
Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, valid driver's licence with no more than 3 demerit points, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
