Minconsult Exploration Services is hiring hardworking individuals for our ongoing remote field season in the Yukon. This role is dedicated to site preparation and exploration in challenging northern environments. Any prior experience in mineral exploration labour and/or construction is considered an asset. Candidates based locally in Whitehorse or the Yukon Territories are highly valued.
Overview
As a Core Cutter/General Labourer, you will provide Geological project support as outlined below.
Responsibilities
- Process and split drill core using a core saw
- Bag, label, and organize core samples for laboratory shipment
- Assist the Geological Department with day-to-day operational support
- Assist with basic construction and repairs around camp
- Perform general camp labour duties as required
Requirements
- Previous core cutting or drill core processing experience is an asset
- Experience in mineral exploration labour is an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work over extended hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond
- Equipment operation and/or basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical skills are an asset
- Training will be provided for the right candidates ‚ a willingness to learn is essential
Various start dates are available over for qualified candidates with some positions available to start immediately.
Compensation: Dependant on experience, ranging from a Daily Rate of $300.00 - 325.00+
(Dependent on mutal agreement between both the Employer and Candidate.)
