We are seeking an accomplished Senior Bridge Engineer to lead the technical and strategic growth of our Civil Infrastructure practice.
Lead the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of bridge and civil structure projects, including new construction, rehabilitation, and replacement projects.
Manage project execution from proposal through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations are achieved.
Lead the preparation of technical proposals, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and qualification submissions for public and private sector clients.
Actively support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, participating in client meetings, and contributing to the successful acquisition of new bridge engineering projects.
Develop project scopes, fee estimates, work plans, schedules, and resource allocations for proposals and ongoing projects.
Conduct bridge inspections in accordance with the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM) requirements for provincial and municipal clients.
Prepare and review structural drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and other relevant design software, including plans, elevations, cross-sections, and detailed construction drawings.
Perform and review engineering calculations, structural analyses, design reports, specifications, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, tender documents, and construction packages.
Ensure designs comply with CHBDC, MTO standards, and applicable municipal and provincial design guidelines.
Provide technical support during construction, including review of contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and field inspections.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, fostering professional development within the team.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, transportation agencies, and key stakeholders to support long-term business growth.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree considered an asset).
Minimum 8 years of progressive bridge engineering experience, including bridge design, rehabilitation, and inspection.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario.
Strong knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), MTO standards, and Ontario bridge engineering practices.
MTO RAQS qualification, or the ability to obtain the qualification within six months.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and other bridge design and drafting software.
Demonstrated experience preparing successful technical proposals, RFP responses, fee proposals, and project pursuits.
Proven ability to identify business opportunities, develop client relationships, and contribute to winning new engineering projects.
Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with bridge inspection, condition assessment, rehabilitation, and construction engineering services.
Excellent technical report writing, proposal writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Strong leadership, mentoring, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
French language proficiency is considered an asset.
Valid Ontario driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
