Senior Accountant or Manager (Public Practice Remote Contract)
Our client, a small and growing public practice firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant or Manager to step in immediately and help manage a high volume of work. This is a fully remote contract opportunity (Mountain timezone) with an urgent start, ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on file work and can hit the ground running. Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Step in quickly to prepare compilation engagements (primary focus)
- Review and provide quality control and practical guidance to junior staff on file work
- Support tax (T2) work and limited review engagements
- Assist with file preparation as needed to help clear backlog and meet tight timeline
- Handle a high volume of files efficiently and keep engagements moving to completion
- Communicate effectively with the owner on priorities, progress, and timelines
Your strengths include:
- Strong public practice experience with a focus on compilation and reivews
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
- High level of productivity, efficiency, and attention to detail
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and good professional judgment
- Experience with CaseWare and tax software (ProFile preferred)
- Comfortable working through complex or unclean client data
- Adaptable, self-directed, and solutions-oriented mindset
