Missinippi Airways provides Air Ambulance services in Manitoba. We are currently accepting applications for Advanced Care Paramedics to join our team. Missinippi Airways offers a superior travel, compensation, and incentive package.
Missinippi Airways is proud to be the only 100% First Nations owned air service in northern Manitoba and one of the oldest First Nations air services in Canada.
Qualifications:
- Current Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and must be able to register with College of Paramedics of Manitoba with good standing, no restrictions.
- Previous experience in an air medical environment is considered an asset.
- Current certification or ability to certify in Basic Life Support.
- Current certification or ability to certify in Advance Cardiac Life Support.
- Current certification or ability to certify in Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- Current certification or ability to certify in International Trauma Life Support / Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support.
- Current certification or ability to certify in CAMATA or equivalent certificate.
- Able to obtain Transport Canada RAIC pass.
- Immunization records up to date including full Covid-19 vaccination.
- Provide a valid Driver’s License and provide up-to-date Driver’s Abstract.
- Provide a valid Police Records Check in the Vulnerable Sector clearance
- Provide Manitoba’s Child Abuse Registry clearance

- Positive interpersonal skills developing relationships with coworkers, nursing stations, hospitals, and medical transport staff ensuring a cohesive patient clinical care plan.
- Dependable and self-motivated with the ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to not just provide an issue or concern but also provide solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, treat, and perform advanced skills and procedures as approved by the College of Paramedics of Manitoba
- Attends educational opportunities and maintain all necessary certifications and licensing required for practice and provided by Missinippi Airways.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Always represent Missinippi Airways in a professional manner reporting to the Chief Flight Medic.
- Practices effective communication with pilots, health care team members and other external groups/ agencies to ensure medevac operations are performed effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure on-time performance as it relates to chute time.
- Ensure aircraft and medical equipment is checked and always maintained to ensure operational readiness.
- Seeks guidance as necessary, reporting to the Chief Flight Medic, Medical Director and General Manager.
- Ensuring safe transportation of patients from northern communities utilizing a variety of different vehicles (Helicopter, Plane, Boat, Van).
- Willing and able to work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work and reside in staff accommodations provided by Missinippi Airways.
