Ironclad Developments Inc. is currently accepting applications for the position of: Safety Coordinator. This job will be held in the Langford, BC area and may require travel to other site projects on a as needed basis. The Safety Coordinator will work under the direction of the Safety Manager.

Our company specializes in project management/development of multifamily construction across Western Canada. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented with good written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
What You Will Bring:
- 4+ years of construction site safety or a combination of safety training & experience.
- Strong time management skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Experience and proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Working knowledge of the BC Workplace Safety Act and Regulations and related legislation.
- Experience in investigations and enforcement procedures.
- Valid Canadian-issued driver's license.
- Ability to maintain effective work relationships.
- Good supervisory and training skills.
- Knowledge of multifamily construction is considered an asset but not required.
What You Will Do:
- Preform inspections of worksites and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the creation, development, implementation and maintenance of company safety policies including Safe Work Practices/Safe Job Procedures/Daily Attendance/Progress Pictures and the Site Emergency Response Plan.
- Advise on PPE equipment need and implementation.
- Complete safety supply requisitions and submit accordingly.
- Manage and conduct Site Orientations, Tool Box Meetings, with all site staff and contractors.
- Responds to and investigates complaints and concerns from both workers and employers and takes appropriate action.
- Investigates incidents and injuries on or around the worksite and recommends corrective/preventative action and controls.
- Establishes Workplace Safety and Health Committees, participates and monitors their performance.
- May participate in educational programs and disseminates the information throughout the workers and employers.
- Assists in training and/or supervision of new workers in aspects of Ironclad worksite safety and rules and ensures that all workers are following safe work practices and procedures.
- Preforms relative industrial hygiene surveys using technical equipment, evaluates results and takes appropriate action.
- Report and file all near miss, injuries, and occurrences of theft, implement corrective action and investigate accordingly. Manage site inspections daily and work as a liaison with OH & S for your province of employment. Communicate and provide all documentation to head office.
- Prepares various reports, documents and forms, reporting to the Site Superintendent and/or assigned Head Office staff. Helps to file and maintain documentation for all Ironclad locations.
- Provide internal training of WHMIS and SDS.
- Ensure all products and materials for SDS are tracked and dated.
- Maintain records of inventory for all equipment.
- Maintain inspection schedules for equipment on site.
- Identify causes and advise on improvements in safety standards that need to be made. Continually review OH & S Standards for Provinces where Ironclad is involved.
- Responsible for the workplace safety and health operations in a specified Ironclad worksite or region.
- May be required to participate in budget control process.
- Provide regular photo documentation of safety deficiencies and overall worksite progress.
- Recommend external and internal training as needed.
- Direct supervision of Jr Site Safety Representatives.
- Provide support and guidance for Site Safety Representatives.
- Site Safety Audits for multiple locations.
- Help develop and maintain both Training and Incident Matrix.
- Time to be divided between Head Office, home site and other Ironclad locations.
- Some travel may be required.
- Preform other related duties as assigned.
