We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to inspire students and foster a love for the French language and culture. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a commitment to student success. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, supporting diverse learning needs, and creating an inclusive classroom environment that encourages language acquisition and cultural understanding.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive French language lessons tailored to high school groups and skill levels
- Develop engaging instructional materials that incorporate speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities
- Assess student progress through tests, assignments, and informal evaluations; provide constructive feedback
- Maintain organized records of student performance and attendance
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs or learning challenges
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and cultural appreciation
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and share best practices
- Provide tutoring support outside of regular class hours as needed to reinforce learning objectives
Requirements
- Proven classroom experience teaching French or related language courses
- Strong communication skills in both spoken and written French and English
- Excellent organizational skills to manage lesson planning, grading, and student records
- Experience with proofreading, writing skills, and curriculum development is preferred
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners, including those in special education programs
- Demonstrated tutoring experience or ability to provide additional student support outside class hours
- Passion for teaching languages and fostering cultural awareness
- Relevant educational qualifications in language instruction or education fields are highly desirable
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
