Job Title: Pipelayers & Skilled Laborers – Civil Utilities, Residential & Commercial Projects
Location: Westshore and Mill Bay (current project)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40–50 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Compensation:
- Pipelayers: $30 – $38/hour (based on experience)
- Skilled Laborers: $22 – $30/hour (based on experience)
- Overtime: Paid after 8 hours/day
- Wages negotiable based on experience and performance during a 3-month probationary period
- Company truck provided for qualified Foremen
About Us
We are an established General Contractor and Developer with a dedicated Civil Services Division, specializing in residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Our projects include 35-unit townhouse communities, condominium buildings, and commercial developments, where we self-perform civil utility installations, site servicing, and roadworks.
We take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork — and we’re looking for experienced Pipelayers and Skilled Laborers to join our growing construction team.
Pipelayer Responsibilities
- Install underground utilities including sewer, storm, water, hydro/tel/cable, and street lighting systems.
- Perform grading and alignment using GPS or laser levels.
- Interpret plans, specifications, and grade stakes accurately.
- Safely spot excavators and other heavy equipment.
- Install pipes and fittings to precise design grades.
- Rig and install manholes, catch basins, trench cages, and other structures.
- Work safely in confined spaces and adhere to all company and regulatory safety standards.
- Perform pressure testing and quality checks on installed systems.
- Support site servicing and utility installation for townhouse, condo, and commercial projects.
Skilled Laborer Responsibilities
- Assist pipelayers, operators, and site foremen with daily construction tasks.
- Lift, move, and organize materials on-site.
- Shovel, rake, and compact materials to grade using gas or diesel compactors.
- Help with site prep, grading, backfilling, and finishing work.
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment safely.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- TCP (Traffic Control Person) certification is an asset.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in civil utilities, site servicing, or road construction.
- Experience with multi-unit residential (townhouse or condo) and commercial projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of subgrade excavation, base gravel, paving prep, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to learn.
