Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Journeyman Mechanic to join our team. This position involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing generators in our shop and customer's locations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, maintain, and repair diesel and natural gas generator systems
- Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements along with reading and knowing schematics
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues both in-shop and on-site
- Perform emergency repairs and provide site services as needed
- Complete service reports, work orders
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Willing to work overtime, weekends and out of town when required
- Test & turn generators, load tests perform maintenance interval servicing
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman certification in a relevant mechanical trade
- Previous experience servicing generators, diesel engines or industrial equipment is strongly preferred
- Solid mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience
- Able to work independently and manage priorities in the field
- Reliable, organized and committed to completing quality work
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) for field reporting and customer communication
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical schematics
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00-$42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
