Products produced at our Hess machine facility are found throughout Canada and the US in DIY projects to high-end homes, commercial applications and assisting in beautifying public outdoor spaces.

Located in Steinbach, MB, you will be trained as a Plant Operator on a two-week rotating shift: 6:00am-2:00pm and 1:30pm-10:00pm, Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for the production of various landscape products with a high commitment on meeting quality standards.

Some of the responsibilities and qualifications for this role include:

- Operating a Hess RH-2000 machine that produces pre-cast concrete products such as paving stones, sidewalk slabs and retaining walls

- Follow daily job travelers to ensure orders are complete

- Assist with the Total Preventative Maintenance program for the machine

- Ensure that safety policies are followed

- Maintain quality workmanship

- Responsible for tracking data and information in computer system

- Depending on the individual’s motivation this role has the potential of expanding into a senior or lead hand role

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment running a production machine

- Experience operating heavily automated production equipment

- Capability to lead one to two others if required

- Ability to troubleshoot irregularities on production machinery

- Basic maintenance experience and a mechanical aptitude

- Strong mathematical skills

- Comfortable with using computers for entering data and recording information

- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts

- Basic concrete/precast knowledge an asset

- Experience using precision measuring tools for quality checks

- An eye for detail and color to create products that meet customer expectations
