Position Overview
Land Rover North Vancouver is seeking a Junior Parts Advisor to join our team, reporting directly to the Parts Manager. This role plays a key part in supporting both internal technicians and external customers by ensuring timely, accurate, and professional parts service.
The Junior Parts Advisor contributes to the overall efficiency of the Parts Department by assisting with parts identification, inventory management, and sales transactions. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the automotive industry while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced dealership environment.
The expected pay for this position is $20.00 - $24.00 per hour.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist retail and wholesale customers with parts inquiries, orders, and purchases
- Identify and source appropriate replacement parts by reviewing old parts or gathering detailed customer and technician descriptions
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper organization and storage of parts
- Process sales transactions, including preparing invoices and sales slips
- Receive, document, and fulfill telephone and in-person parts orders
- Order parts not in stock and track backorders to ensure timely fulfillment
- Inspect returned parts for defects and process exchanges or refunds as required
- Advise customers on alternative parts or suitable substitutions when exact matches are unavailable
- Sell parts and accessories while providing knowledgeable consultation to customers
- Collaborate with technicians and other departments to ensure operational efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the parts department
- Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 25 kg
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and within established timelines
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications Required
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in automotive parts, retail, or customer service is an asset
Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to identify parts using catalogs, systems, or electronic databases
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer proficiency (inventory and point-of-sale systems)
Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
Legally entitled to work in Canada
