Your day to day tasks will be integral in supporting the Merchandise Operations team by providing analytical insight that drives the business as well as the automation that makes us faster. You are expected to deliver insights through a data driven approach. You create dashboards and reports that track and inform on operational and vendor performance, and you implement the automation of error prone and low value tasks to allow your colleagues to focus on higher value decisions. A critical part of your role will be to understand and interpret requirements from business stakeholders through excellent communication skills. The analytics and reporting that you develop will communicate insights effectively and clearly to your colleagues within MEC with a high degree of quality.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develops and manages financial and inventory reporting for Director of Inventory for the purposes for inventory control, budgeting and forecasting. Examples include Merch OTB tracking, aged inventory reporting, seasonal exit targets, and write-down provisions.
Regular operational reporting and analysis related to Merch Operations activities (PO management, pricing, product & vendor setup) including managing data health dashboards & supporting end-users with data downloads / uploads
Manages & development of exception-based reporting from D365 and MMS for the purposes for PO management, IM scorecard performance and supplier performance.
Support decision making in key processes across merchandise operations, such purchase order analysis, inventory management and replenishment
Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as the automation of low-level, repetitive and error prone work though software tools and data analytics
Create dashboards and analyses that help track company, team, and individual performance, foster accountability, and capitalize on market opportunities
Work collaboratively with various stakeholders as a trusted partner and thought leader throughout MEC
Act as a subject matter expert on the data models, systems and process with Merchandise Operations.
IT, Information Systems, Business or mathematics bachelor’s degree or diploma an asset
Strong attention to detail
3+ years relevant experience required
Strong data analytics skills including use of data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau
Experience with Python, VBA, SQL required
Fully fluent in Microsoft Office Suite especially SharePoint, Excel, Powerpoint, Word
Microsoft D365 and any other ERP or Category Management software (ex. JDA/AS400)
