THE MISSION: YOUR ROLE
You will be the lead face of Handy Home in the field. This is a "Lone Wolf" role for a technician who can handle a massive variety of tasks solo. You will eventually mentor incoming apprentices, but out of the gate, you must be a master of:
- Carpentry & Structural: Finish and rough carpentry, door & window repair/replacement.
- Drywall & Paint: Expert patching, texture matching, and painting.
- Mechanical & Fixtures: Replacing plumbing (faucets, toilets, vanities) and electrical fixtures (ceiling fans, dimmers, outlets).
- Fine Detail Work: Re-caulking bathtubs/showers, high-end furniture assembly, blind and curtain rod installation.
- Finishings: Closet wire shelving, picture/art/mirror hanging, and tilework.
- Exterior Mastery: Pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and exterior repairs (fencing, decking, fascia & general wood rot repairs).
- Operations: Using invoicing/estimating software (Markate) to provide on-site solutions.
THE COMPENSATION: HIGH FLOOR, NO CEILING
We don't believe in "flat" hourly rates that punish the pros. We use a Pay-for-Performance (P4P) model that ensures you are always taken care of while giving you the ability to write your own raise.
- The Safety Net (The Floor): You are guaranteed a base rate of $26.00 per hour for every hour you are clocked in (including drive time and shop time). You never have to worry about a "slow" day or a traffic jam.
- The Performance Engine (The Ceiling): For every job you complete to our 5-star standard, you earn 33% of the Labor Revenue. * The Best Part: Our system automatically calculates both. You are always paid whichever amount is higher. The Math for A-Players: Most of our skilled technicians who work efficiently and follow our checklists see an effective rate of $40 to $55 per hour on their paychecks.
Note: We have a "Zero Callback" policy. We pay for mastery. If a job requires a return visit due to workmanship, you own the fix, ensuring our 5-star reputation stays intact.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Location: You must live in Ridge Meadows or the immediate surrounding areas.
- Experience: 5+ years in the handyman or construction field. You must be able to work independently with zero direct supervision.
- Tools: You should have a professional-grade basic tool kit. We provide specialty gear and a company-wrapped vehicle.
- The Ride & Logistics: A valid driver's license with a clean abstract is mandatory. You will use your own vehicle to commute to our shop in Central Maple Ridge. From there, you will switch to our professionally Logo’d company vehicle for your daily route.
- Grit: Ability to stand for long periods, work at heights, and work outdoors in adverse conditions.
- Tech Savviness & CRM Operations: Our entire business runs on a mobile CRM. You will be required to use your mobile device multiple times per day to clock in/out, record work order changes in real-time, and document jobs with "before and after" photos.
- Safety & Trust: Qualified applicants must be willing to undergo a background check and drug test as part of our final screening process.
