RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively managing your daily sales and catering activities to support & exceed targets
- Research, follow-up on and convert sales leads in order to achieve targeted market Segments, revenues and occupancy as laid down in the property budget/business plan and contribute to an innovative but cost-effective Sales and Marketing Plan.
- Solicit and book sales group bookings with 10 or more rooms per night in SMERF, Corporate, Athletic & Association, group, LNR & National accounts and events/meetings to meet and ideally exceed sales revenue goals.
- Professionally handling all third party and group room inquiries through to contracting
- Achieving all personal sales goals to help us maximize profitability
- Creating and implement a sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume
- Reviewing Brand and Hotel reports to assist in tracking performance and develop the hotel's and your own growth plan
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and prospective/target contacts
- Travel locally to conduct outside sales calls, promote the hotel and review competition.
- Prepare information for, meet and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.
- Represent hotel at trade shows including exhibit set-up
- Creation and presentation of weekly and monthly sales activities and forecasting.
- Actively engage in sales of meeting space and book various types of events, including but not limited to: Meetings, Dinners, Receptions, Weddings, Social events,
- Conduct site inspections
- Establish and maintain excellent rapport with clients, prior to, during and post event, encouraging repeat business
- Initiate billing procedures, ensuring any deposits and/or credit applications are received with adequate information and within an acceptable time frame
- Working closely with the General Manager and Regional Sales Director to achieve market segments, revenues and occupancy targets as laid down in the property business plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Three plus years of experience in hotel sales with a proven track record of dedication and success
- Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends required
- Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
- Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.
- Ability to work independently or in a team as required
- Ability to communicate well with guests.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Must be able to commit to and follow through on a schedule of outside sales calls as required to meet targets
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Must speak and write English at a professional level
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Proficiency in Opera and Merlin an asset.
- Awareness of, and ability to use, lead generation tools like MeetingBroker and Cvent.
