The Engineering studio in our downtown Toronto office is seeking an Electrical Designer who will utilize their knowledge of building electrical systems, building materials, building codes and construction technologies to develop efficient and effective electrical engineering design solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work under the supervision of more senior Engineers and Designers to create contract documents and engineering reports.
Perform basic engineering activities such as calculations, code research, equipment and building systems research.
Prepare drawings following office standards
Perform site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditions
Attend team meetings to coordinate information with other professional disciplines
Improve timeliness of delivery without compromising quality of solutions and services
Utilize industry best practices and established standards to ensure production adheres to corporate and professional expectations; researches new methods
Gain familiarity with current design trends, building systems and code changes to improve skills and implements them on project work
Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
Is proficient in Engineering software skills, including AutoCAD and Revit
Is familiar with Electrical building systems and relevant building codes and standards
Possess superior communication, time management, and problem solving skills
Registration in relevant professional association and LEED certification is an asset
