Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our finance team for a property management firm. Our firm is a third party property management firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and proficiency in various accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and account reconciliation.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct account analysis to identify trends and variances, providing insights for operational improvements.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software such as YARDI.
- Ensure timely processing of financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all financial activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
- Lead audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA designation is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar role within a finance department.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices including budgeting, account analysis, and payroll management.
- Proficiency in accounting software in YARDI is required.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills for collaboration across various teams within the organization.
