Job Overview
At Possibilities Recovery Center we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Addictions Counsellor to join our team. The position is part time - 12-16 hours per week. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background (5+ Years) in mental health and addictions counselling and demonstrate proficiency in various therapeutic modalities. This role involves providing high-quality therapeutic services to individuals and groups, with a focus on promoting mental wellness and supporting clients through their journeys. Clinical Supervision is provided by the agency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic services utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and other modalities.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
- Provide Individual counselling as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure holistic treatment approaches.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including intake assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Engage in case management activities to support clients in accessing community resources and services.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in behavioural health to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
- Support the facilitation team as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Certified Addiction Counselling, or a related field.
- Valid licensure as a Registered Social Worker, Certified Addiction Counsellor or equivalent certification is a requirement.
- Minimum 5 years experience working with group facilitation and one on one counselling. Lived experience considered an asset.
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities pertaining to addiction
- Strong skills in client care, team collaboration, record keeping, and clinical therapy
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
