The Environmental Group is focused on provision of multi-discipline construction services to our Environmental clients including process piping and equipment, plumbing, gas and HVAC installations for the industrial, environmental, and municipal sectors.
The Environmental Group is currently seeking Journeyman Plumbers for work in northern Alberta. The Successful candidate(s) will report to the Mechanical Supervisor for assigned projects.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

To be considered for this position you must be a certified as a Journeyman in Alberta for the Plumber and Gasfitter trades.
Installation of Plumbing Systems as required by the Plumbing Code.
Installation of Gas Pipe and Venting Systems as required by the B149 Codes.
Basic awareness of applicable AWWA stds.
Read and interpret orthographic and P&ID design drawings & Specifications
Make Material Lists and supporting 3-D Sketches of material requirements
Development of pipe fabrication spool drawings from orthographic drawings
Installation of Process Piping for Water Treatment
Threading, Cutting, Grooving, Bending, Measuring of piping
Installation of Process Equipment for Water Treatment
Disinfection of installed pipe and equipment to AWWA Stds
Hydrostatic testing of installed piping systems
Development of Test Packages for process piping systems
Basic computer skills including Excel and Word are a requirement.
Participate in project start-up and commissioning.
Basic understanding of Quality Control processes for pipe and equipment installations
Ensuring safe work practices, EH&S processes, and OH&S compliance are followed on site
Grade 12 High School diploma
Valid class 5 driver’s license

Desired Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in Water Treatment and Waste Water Treatment plant construction.
Certified Cross Connection Control and Testing
Basic computer skills including Excel and Word.
Assist with quantity take-off for estimating.
Basic knowledge of Acorn ISO Express.
A positive attitude towards safety is expected and imperative
Excellent verbal communication skills
Preference will be given to applicants holding Technical Qualifications similar to, Gold Seal, PMP, CET, Bsc. Eng. Or applicants who have started but not completed similar Technical Qualifications.
Applicants should be willing to continue development of their trade and technical skills and qualifications.

The following Safety Qualifications, Certificates or Tickets are desirable:

CSTS-Current
Elevated Work Platform
Confined Space
Fall Protection
H2S Awareness or H2S Alive

Membership in the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) will be a requirement.

Travel to remote project sites will be required.

Candidates will be required to pass an alcohol and drug test as a pre-requisite to employment.
