Summary
The Small Diameter Piling / Anchor Foreman role is mean to oversee the field crew for small diameter piles, micro-piles, and anchors. Primarily this will involve shoring projects.
The Small Diameter Piling / Anchor Foreman, under the direction of the Operations Manager, is primarily responsible for all aspects of the worksites, including planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating specific piling projects from start to finish. The incumbent monitors workers to ensure that duties are being completed in an efficient, effective, and safe manner. The Foreman must have a strong dedication to health and safety in the workplace, ensuring all workers perform their duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Job Duties
- Lead work on construction sites to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations, and safety codes
- Coordinate and direct all company workers on the worksite
- Ensure Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards are met and exceeded.
- Aid with the planning, organizing, direction, control, and evaluation of piling projects onsite from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget
- Plan and prepare schedules and monitor progress against established schedules
- Ensure proper staffing levels onsite each day to ensure that the project is completed as scheduled
- Ensure that proper materials and quantities of materials are onsite each day prior to daily work commencing
- Verify the quantity of necessary personal protective equipment and the replacement of any equipment that is damaged or put out of service
- Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and report on construction progress
- Ensure all contractual issues are reported to the Operations Manager, resolved and dealt with in a timely manner
- Complete administrative duties onsite including timesheets, take offs, purchases, change requests, and daily logs, and any other documentation as required
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to Project Manager
- Supervise the activities of onsite subordinate staff
- Ensure the overall safety of all workers onsite by performing regular checks and inspections on site
- Plan, implement, and monitor the construction plan, including all scheduling and logistics
- Ensure accurate and timely project close-out
- Support company initiatives and policies enthusiastically.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
- High School diploma,
- Post-Secondary diploma or degree in a technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of construction experience specific to piling.
- 5+ or more years previous supervising experience in a Construction environment with proven leadership abilities.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations
- Holds a clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintains a high level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
- Ability to attend and conduct meetings.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Maintains a well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Work Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc Hazards associated with the trade
- May be required to work in unfavourable weather conditions.

- Travel may be required.
