Job Overview
As a Logistics Coordinator, you are responsible for the planning and execution of shipping and transportation of equipment, parts and supplies in support of our operational team to ensure a smooth and efficient transition between all departments. Working alongside the Equipment and Operations team, you will be involved with all matters pertaining to the movement and transportation of items across all Conwest departments and projects and required. Enrolment with CLAC Union is a requirement of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting, scheduling, and executing pre and post projects of CWC assets, rentals, materials, Items, and supplies
- Assisting field crews with shipments of parts, consumables, rentals and materials
- Removing damaged or defective assets, equipment, vehicles, and items safely as needed
- Coordinating Logistics schedules to maximize efficiency across multiple sites
- Assisting in the pick-up and delivery of items from vendors and delivery to sites
- Responsible for the maintenance and organization of the laydown yard and all items within, including safe and efficient storage of all CWC Assets
- Addressing reported issues and ensuring readiness for deployment, identifying readiness of delivered materials and equipment in support of our field operations and technicians
- Transport and deliver materials to residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
- Secure loads and ensure safety during transit and at delivery locations.
- Maintain communication with operations and equipment manager throughout the day
- Complete truck/equipment/rigging/material inspections and delivery documentation accurately.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Securely tarp and secure loads according to safety regulations
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials, adhering to schedules.
- Comply with all traffic laws, weight restrictions, and company safety policies.
- Resolve operational issues and provide real-time solutions under pressure.
- Provide Solutions in crisis situations (accidents, delays, weather disruptions).
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience and competency with transportation of materials, equipment, and fleet, in a construction and civil construction application
- Experience and competency in operating trucks and loading equipment
- Familiarity with civil construction equipment, materials, tools and supplies, their safe operating capacities and procedures
- Aptitude for complex logistical planning and organization an assetAbility to adapt and solve problems as unique and complicated situations arise
- Technical and mechanical aptitude an asset
- Strong communication and documentation skills, familiarity with email and text communications
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license, advanced licenses / Air Brake preferred
- Ability to operate skid steers, loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment for loading materials, and loading on to decks for transportation
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
