Why this role is important?
Pharmacy Data Specialist - 12 month Contract
What You'll Do:
Retrieve faxed or electronic physician orders, prescriptions or requests for prescription refills
Leverage your pharmacy and customer service expertise to accurately input patient prescriptions into our pharmacy computer systems
Accurately process patient and resident prescriptions, and any changes, and refills
Create new patient profiles and maintain existing records housed in our internal patient database
Input and update patient and resident electronic records in Kroll
Prepare and review prescription labels for printout
Demonstrate superior customer service when discussing important information between colleagues and external partners (physicians and nurses in the facilities we service), as required
Perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
Minimum 1 year working experience in a pharmacy
Excellent organization and time management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated with a passion for providing superior customer service
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally
Strong computer skills, with the ability to navigate through a variety of computer systems quickly
Accurate and efficient data entry skills and attention to detail
Completion of a post-secondary program, focused on Pharmacy or health sciences; or previous experience as a Pharmacy Data Technician (2-3 years)
Previous work experience using Kroll
Previous experience in a long-term care pharmacy
Previous work experience with dispensing multi-dose packaging or compliance packaging
