The Maintenance Reliability Specialist and Training Coordinator is responsible for optimizing and improving the reliability of production equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance. They also coordinate training activities within the internal LFD School program and serve as a link between departments while collaborating with trainers across all shifts. (This list is not exhaustive and may include additional responsibilities.)
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Reliability
- Reduce the frequency and recurrence of breakdowns
- Decrease maintenance costs
- Prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance work
- Maintain accurate work order history
- Optimize equipment uptime and performance
- Deploy preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Analyze breakdowns using CMMS systems
- Track maintenance costs and propose improvement solutions
- Identify critical spare parts to maintain in stock
- Update technical procedures
- Actively participate in change management
- Define and monitor KPIs
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned
Training and Coordination (LFD School)
- Present training plans to new employees and validate onboarding steps
- Train maintenance technicians and evaluators on LFD School modules and processes
- Monitor training satisfaction surveys and provide feedback
- Conduct periodic evaluations of maintenance technicians with department managers
- Ensure technicians comply with signed commitments
- Organize meetings and training sessions
Training Deployment and Follow-Up
- Launch training programs on the intranet platform
- Ensure proper follow-up of training plans and completion tracking
- Prepare M+1 and M+3 evaluation reports in collaboration with supervisors
- Identify internal training needs
Content and Resource Management
- Participate in the creation and update of training matrices and resources
- Collaborate with the group steering committee on updates
- Centralize feedback from site references regarding training content
- Support the organization of video production for training materials
Administration
- Provide feedback on tool usage
- Prepare performance reports to measure system efficiency
- Define and track KPIs (including utilization rates)
- Lead monthly meetings with HR and department/site managers
- Perform any additional administrative tasks as required
Qualifications and Requirements
- AEC, DEC, or DEP in mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, electromechanics, or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role (asset)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the food industry (asset)
- Strong French and functional English required to ensure clear communication (safety, procedures, training)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint – testing required)
- Experience with CMMS software (Dimo Maint is an asset)
